The card-like strategems from Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will be returning. If a siege is successful, you’ll enter “Showdown” mode, forcing the enemy generals out into the open for one last battle.
In Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, battles will take place on castle maps. In past instalments, players have created kingdoms ruled by their own dream team of characters and waged war with rivals until they unify China under one banner. Unsurprisingly, the series hack and slash combat remains untouched though Empires (known as Shin Sangoku Musou 8 Empires in Japan) will include the siege engines and wall climbing mechanics from Dynasty Warriors 9.įor those unfamiliar with the popular Warriors spin-offs, the Empires titles take take the action-heavy gameplay and combine it with a deeper layer of strategy.
